Background Actor Seeking Costume

I received this email from a former Star Trek background actor. Maybe one of you can help! "Hi Alec! I just discovered your blog, and started at the beginning and read it all. Fascinating, to say the least. I am an "old-timer" with STAR TREK, and in fact got to see them shoot some of TOS back in 1967. I was also one of the lucky people who got to work in ST: TMP. and thus, I have to ask you if you might be able to help me locate the uniform I wore in the film. I know there have been a boatload of auctions but have seen my uniform listed. It was a white jumpsuit, science department, women's size 8. Attached is a photo of me in it. I tried to buy it right after the film wrapped, and even with Leonard trying to help me, Western Costume had them all in storage. The TOS Shatner Kirk Tunic at Profiles in History.

While some people know this, it is not public knowledge, but last year, I acquired a William Shatner Captain Kirk Tunic. Yes, a holy grail to almost all of us Star Trek prop & costume collectors. It was an amazing find and literally walked in the door of Propworx. (OK, it had help walking in the door). I traded that tunic to another collector, who is now selling it in Profiles in History. Why? Well, it really is an expensive item as we will see when it sells later this month. And it is too expensive for a collector like me. I am not rich and having such an expensive piece of history is just not practical. You can't display it unless you build a very expensive display, and you have to insure it. Also, while I love my collection, a Kirk Tunic, while a Holy Grail, isn't going to make me happy. From Doug Drexler: Happy Sunday morning! Grab a cuppa whatever, and get ready to take a time trip with old Doug! When you work on a television show for many years, especially one like Star Trek, and particularly at the time that we did, you end up with all kinds of stuff that would otherwise have been thrown away. I know a statement like that... "stuff that would have otherwise been thrown away"... usually starts a firestorm of criticism of the studio. You don't need to say that today. Looky, y ou know what a geek I am about this stuff, yet I understand that the studio cannot save everything from all of their productions. Also remember that at the time, auctions where fans could own a piece of the show were non-existent. Storing stuff was not economically feasible.
