Alec on the Team Jack Podcast

Some of you know one of my best friends, Jack Morrissey.  He recently started a Podcast on the Kevin Smith Smodcast network.  Well, he invited me on last week and the podcast just came out.  We talk a lot of Star Trek, props, collecting and more.  All the stuff we love to talk about.  I hope you will check it out.  It is just over an hour.  I have already gotten emails from friends who found it and loved it, so I thought I would share it with you all.

Tom Paris costume on eBay

A Tom Paris costume previously sold by Screen Used, is up for sale on eBay.  The seller initially had the costume on eBay with a very reasonable opening bid, but closed the auction early and has relisted it.  The seller is known to the Star Trek collecting community and a bit of a pain in the ass though not a crook.

In the past one forum member has tried to negotiate with this seller for a costume he had on eBay and the seller was a bit rude (and this come form one of the nicest forum member) and refused to negotiate.  The buyer eventually waited the guy out and got the costume a few years later from him.

The seller's prices are generally high for Star Trek costumes, as we see from a lot of buyers who think they can make a big mark-up on costumes when they go to sell.  Here, while the opening bid is closer to a reasonable sale price than an opening bid, he does have a "Make an Offer" button.
Now this costume is really interesting is that this costume comes with a screen used comm badge and pips, so I think the price is pretty good, but make an offer if you are interested.

Quark's Dabo Table

As part of my work as Star Trek Archivist, I work with CBS determining what items should stay in the CBS collection and what needs to be sold.  Then we decide if those items should be in a Propworx Star Trek auction or if we should sell them directly.

Quark's Dabo Table is one of those items we decided to sell directly.  It was big and needed a good home.  And it came with some Quark's Bar tables and chairs.  So it was only natural that I sell those items to the world's biggest Ferengi collector, Francis from Arizona.

So Curtis, Jarrod and I delivered those items to Francis as part of our trip to Las Vegas to pick up the rest of the assets from the Star Trek Experience.  And Francis wasted no time taking a photo.

I couldn't think of a better home.

Klingon Throne for Sale

Well, the Propworx crew is heading to Vegas Sunday to get all the museum assets of the Star Trek Experience.  They have been in storage there since the event closed.  One of the items we will not be keeping in the CBS Star Trek archive is the Klingon Throne.  There are already two on the Star Trek Exhibit and this one is not screen used.  We believe it was made by production specifically for the museum, like many other items.

If you are interested, please let me know at alec@propworx.com.

Of course, by now you have spotted the Sword of Kahless.  When I saw this photo I sent John Van Citters, the head of licensing for Star Trek at CBS this email:

Sword of Kahless!   HOLY CRAP!!!!

His reply was:

No, HOLY GRAIL!

BTW, the Sword of Kahless better not fall off the truck anywhere…  :-)
