Week 26
Well, 6 months of auctions are history and we all should give ourselves a big round of applause for not going bankrupt! I need a breakl!
This was a strong week with IAW doing $ 141,424 in sales. The strength comes from a very strong week for Star Trek: The Motion Picture costumes, which filled 3 of the top 5 sales spots.
The T'Pol jumpsuit went for an astonishing $ 9,978. Two bidders ot in a bidding war early, and the top bid was reached before the auctions started ending, so the winner simply outlasted the underbidder. Seems like a lot for a costume of T'Pol, though it was really nice. This makes the costume the second highest costume behind the Spock Space Suit, which went for $ 10,100.
The Spock class D uniform went high, going for $ 7,810. A month ago, one of these went for $ 6,100. The costume, from Star Trek: The Motion Picture, certainly is recognizable and unique because of the Mandarin collar.
The Admiral Kirk Class A went for a shocking $ 7,767. While it did have the bio-monitor buckle, it had no Starfleet insignia. With the bottoms so frayed I am surprised this costume went so high, but it is a Kirk.
As pointed out previously, the Admiral Cartwright costume did not
have the right jacket. Yet someone still thought it worth $ 7,600! That is an insane amount for a marron that is not from one of the main characters.
The McCoy Class B shirt at $ 4,117 was another shocker. McCoy didn't wear this in Star Trek: TMP and so for this to go so high makes no sense. But Motion Picture costumes went high this past week, and this was much higher than it should have.
The Ornate Vulcan Robe was another crazy one. $ 3,050 for a costume of no special significance! This one shocked me when I saw what it went for. I don't get it.
A background Class A Starfleet uniform went for $ 2,550. No clue why, as this isn't a character costume and we have seen a bunch of these. Not a good deal, though a good costume with attached boots, and all the pieces. Another tan version went for $ 2,025.
The Captain Archer desert uniform went for a reasonable $ 2,415. I think this was a great deal. A Captain's costume, with the jacket and rank pips. And this is one that will look great on display.
The Sulu Commando uniform sold for $ 2,238. This was a good price as this costume has the rare boots, that only one other of these has had. This makes this a pretty good costume. I own the
other one of these sold with boots, the Uhura, and it looks great on display.
The Captain Kirk Rura Penthe costume went at a very reasonable $ 1.954. This had the stunt version too and has a lot of parts. Being it wasn't a uniform, it went fairly reasonably. And if you like Star Trek VI, it will make a good display.
The Travis Mayweather costume went for a very reasonable $ 1,781. Since the last one went at a ridiculous $ 4,606, this was a good deal.
I liked the Collared Class A Starfleet Uniform as it went for a reasonable $ 1,700, is complete and will look great on display!
I won the Admiral Janeway stunt costume from "End Game" at a very reasonable $ 1,675. I love this style of uniform and the fact that it is a stunt costume doesn't bother me. It will look just as good on display and came with and admiral's rank and comm badge.
The USS Relativity costume went for $ 1,675 as well, which was less than the $ 2,027 the last one went for. These are really amazing and beautiful costumes. I want one, but am waiting to see if teh Captain Braxton comes up.
The White Radiological Suit went high at $ 1,625, considering it was distressed. None the less, these are beautiful costumes.
Enterprise jumpsuits continue to go for $ 900 - 1,100 and this is a good deal. These are beautiful costumes and would look good in any collection.
There were so many good costumes this past week, and I can't review them all. If you want more information, please check out the Star Trek Prop, Costume and Auction Forum, where you can get insights from lots of collectors on a whole lot more than what I discuss here.
As far as props go:
The Enterprise console was a beauty. It went for a strong $ 3,045 to my friend Jason. I loved this piece and I hope to get one like it in the future.
The Voyager Starfleet Compression Rifle went for $ 2,184, which was a good deal considering I bought one for $ 2,957 a few weeks ago. Of course mine had an attached strap! :-)
I did win the Starfleet Type III, Mark II Phaser Rifle which I needed to help complete my Phaser rifle collection. I paid $ 2,125 while one like this sold last month for $ 2,600. Now where are those DS9 style ones?????
The Smashed Enterprise D model was the one that Picard broke in "First Contact". At $ 1,804 it went at a pretty good price for such a pivotal prop.
The iconic Starship Defiant Original Series Style Chair went for a strong $ 1,725. What a cool prop and who doesn't recognize it? I bet there will be more based on how many were used in "Trials and Tribulations" and "In a Mirror Darkly".
The Spock mindmeld model piece at $ 1,703 was a puzzle. Not very interesting, though recognizable. I guess someone really liked Star Trek: The Motion Picture.
The Klingon Console went for $ 1,525, which is quite reasonable. The shipping on this will probably be about $ 750, and I think fear of this is what is keeping people from bidding on these. But these are way cool, and I am sure IAW has a bunch more (and they need the space in their warehouse!).
The Klingon Electronic Device was actually a Bajoran Tricorder, as seen in such episodes as "Indiscretion" and "Return to grace". It went for $ 1,381.
T'Pol's Courtyard Vulcan Stands went for $ 1,240. I don't know, but these aren't very interesting in my book. But I guess having Vulcan items in your house or garden is cool.
The Klingon head mask went for $ 1,225. Six of these have sold in the past for between $ 577 - $ 1,526. These are from Star Trek VI when they needed a bunch of Klingons for the courtroom scene. They will look great of you have a Klingon costume.
The Orbital Office Complex model went for $ 1,204. Again, not sure how appealing this one is. Basically a big box! But at least it wasn't too expensive.
The Reman Rifle had two working lights and thus at $ 1,125 was a good deal.
Finally, the Star Trek: Enterprise Orpheus Mining Colony LCARS display never got above the $ 1,025 it was at late in the week, which was good, because I didn't think it was worth much more.

Once again, thanks to Jorg, the Star Trek savant, for these Week 26 Errors and Additions:
STAR TREK: ENT “T’POL JUMPSUIT” As the costume has the name tag, it is actually from "These are the voyages". T'Pol wears it in the scene where she is packing Trip's things in his quarters after his death, for example.
STAR TREK: VOY “CAPTAIN JANEWAY CIVILIAN COSTUME” Another civilian outfit from "Resolutions", the last one she wears in that episode.
STAR TREK: VOY “THE DOCTOR OFF DUTY COSTUME LOT” The blue pajamas were not worn by the Doctor but by Lewis Zimmerman in "Life line".
STAR TREK: ENT "KANTAREAN ENERGY CARBINE" FROM "OASIS" Repainted Andorian Pistols.
STAR TREK: VOY “HARRY KIM OFF DUTY COSTUME LOT” Features pieces from several different costumes. The tank top and red shorts are from "The Q and the grey", for example. The green shorts are seen in "Non sequitur" when Harry wakes up next to his girlfriend Libby. The corresponding green shirt seems to be lost. STAR TREK: VOY “LIEUTENANT COMMANDER TUVOK OFF DUTY COSTUME”
Seen, for example, in "Remember" and "Mortal coil".
STAR TREK: VOY “LIEUTENANT TORRES OFF DUTY COSTUME”Torres' pajamas, seen in "Remember".
STAR TREK: VOY “NEELIX COSTUME LOT”
Neelix' pyjamas, seen in "Night". STAR TREK: ENT “VULCAN CAPTAIN CHAIR” FROM “FALLEN HERO”
First seen in "Breaking the ice".STAR TREK: VOY “HARRY KIM CIVILIAN COSTUME”
Seen in "Remember" and "Mortal coil".Chekov's "Lost in the Woods" Costume
Simply not correct
Now here's the jacket that Chekov wore in ST:V The Final Frontier:
The jacket collar gives it away. (Thanks to Jeff for this)
STAR TREK: ENT “T’POL’S COURTYARD VULCAN STANDS”
Reused dozens of times. Seen as Klingon torches in "Broken Bow", "Judgment" and "Day of honor". seen as Vulcan torches in "Gambit II", "Gravity" and "Home". Also seen in "The Seventh" on Pernaia and in "Heroes and demons" in the Beowulf holodeck program.
STAR TREK: VOY “NEELIX COSTUME”
Worn again by Neelix in "Resistance" when undercover on the Alsaurian homeworld. One of the images of the listing (the blue costume) is of Tuvok's civilian outfit. STAR TREK ENTERPRISE: LANTERN
Not one single lamp of this type was used in "Starnge new world", another type of lamps was seen in that episode and "Rogue planet". The lamp shown here was originally created for Voyager and seen in "The haunting of deck twelve". As that lamp shows Enterprise-era signage here, it was later modified for use in Enterprise, but definitely not for "Strange new world".
STAR TREK: VOY “LIEUTENANT TOM PARIS ROBE”
Worn by Tom Paris in "Endgame" when he takes pregnant B'Elanna to sickbay, in the middle of the night, early in the episode.STAR TREK I: “ORBITAL OFFICE COMPLEX MODEL COMPONENT”
This hangar deck model was created for "A time to stand". The close-ups reveal that it was partly created from Maquis Raider and Runabout model parts. This also makes it clear, that it was never created for Star Trek I or II, as those model kits were not available back in 1979 or 1982.... This is the hangar bay of Starbase 375, seen in several DS9 Dominion war arc episodes.STAR TREK: ENT “KLINGON ELECTRONIC DEVICE”
This is actually a Bajoran tricorder, as seen in such episodes as "Indiscretion" and "Return to grace".
STAR TREK: ENT “XINDI-INSECTOID CONSOLE”
A Xindi Insectoid console from the crash-landed Xindi Insectoid ship in "Hatchery".
STAR TREK: ENT “DEGRA’S SHIP CONSOLE” – LARGE and STAR TREK: ENT “DEGRA’S SHIP CONSOLE”
Those two consoles are not from Degra's ship, seen in several Season 3 episode, but from Degraa's shuttlecraft, only seen in one scene in "The council". STAR TREK: VOY “LIEUTENANT TORRES CIVILIAN COSTUME”
Worn by B'Elanna during bat'leth practice with Tom Paris in "Displaced". STAR TREK: VOY “FORMER BORG ICHEB COSTUME LOT” These three costumes basically comprise everything Icheb ever wore in his various episodes, so this is pretty much a complete set of all Icheb costumes (except for the Borg costume, I guess). STAR TREK: ENT “ORNATE VULCAN ROBE” This robe was only briefly seen in "The Forge", It was worn by a Vulcan present during the bombing in the Earth Embassy at the beginning of the episode. It was featured much more heavily in the following two episodes, "Awakening" and "Kir'Shara" as it was worn by one of the five members of the Vulcan High Command. Here are some shots of the costume: STAR TREK: ENT “CAPTAIN ARCHER DESERT UNIFORM” FROM “DESERT CROSSING” This costume is special on several levels: The desert uniform was only seen in a few episodes: worn by Archer and Trip in "Desert crossing", by Mayweather, Tucker and Trip in "The breach" and by Archer in "The Forge", "Awakening" and "Kir'Shara". Thus, only 4 people were seen wearing the uniform. The jacket that is sold with the costume here wasn't created, to supplement the desert uniform, until "The Forge", meaning the It's a wrap! description is partially incorrect as the jacket didn't exist at the time of "Desert crossing". Archer is seen wearing the jacket on Vulcan in "The Forge", it disappears after the first episode of the Vulcan three-parter and is not seen in "Awakening" or "Kir'Shara". As Archer is the only person ever seen wearing the jacket, only one jacket like this exists. Well, two: Christie's sold the same complete Archer desert outfit, including the jacket and the NX-01 hat he is seen wearing in the episode, last year. This was the set worn by Scott Bakula. It's a wrap! is currently selling the same set of costumes, only they were worn by Bakula's stunt doubles. Even if the name tag indicates "Scott Bakula" it doesn't have to mean he actually wore the outfit, especially if it is then followed by another name "Vince Deadrick", for example. This basically only means it is the costume of Bakula's stunt double - Deadrick. Anyway, this is still a very cool costume and a two-of-a-kind, so to speak. Hope this little research helps whoever turns out winning the lot!
STAR TREK: VOYAGER “U.S.S. RELATIVITY” STARFLEET UNIFORM – FEMALE WITH CAPTAIN RANK PIPS
Worn by one of the two female officers seen here.STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE STARFLEET “FIELD RATE 2” PADD
PADDs like that were seen in "First flight". Another similar PADD was sold some time ago (here). That one was clearly seen in the episodes. I went through "First flight" but didn't find this PADD, maybe it was seen just in the background. Those PADDS originally were seen as Vulcan PADDS in "Stigma" until the were modified into Starfleet PADDS for "First flight". STAR TREK: ENT "ANDORIAN BANNER"
These are intersting. They were created for "Proving ground" for the bridge and ready room of Shran's ship. They were put behind semi-translucent molds, so only parts of the actual pattern were seen on screen. These "banners" give us a clear look at the actual design behind the opaque structures. Here's a screenshot, you can make out the identic pattern behind the frosted mold.
STAR TREK: ENT “AENAR COSTUME” FROM “THE AENAR” - FEMALE
Only two female Aenar were ever seen, Jhamel and Lissan. Jhamel (Shran's future wife and mother of Talla) was the only female Aenar seen with the complete outfit, not just the "indoor" outfit but also the fur and gauze outdoor overcoat. Comparing the fur patterns it becomes clear, that this is actually Jhamel's complete one of a kind costume.
Thanks to Jorg for putting this together!
Alec
Well, we have arrived at the 1/2 year anniversary! That is right, week 26 represents 6 months of auctions from IAW. I know my bank account is reeling, and I know we have probably 6 more months of this!
Forgive me if this preview is short, but I am traveling on business all week. Currently I am in LA and been hanging out with my buddy Brett Jones of Federation Surplus. He is casting some of my pieces (Universal Translator, Admiral Belt Buckle) and so you will all be able to get them from him soon. Between business and hanging out with Brett I have been pretty busy. I also got to meet with Tiara Nappi, the owner of It's a Wrap today and i will be doing an interview with her for next week's blog.
On to the auctions.......
So for this week there is a war going on for a hot T'Pol costume, a bunch of nice ST:TMP background costumes and a bunch of starship consoles from different races!
The T'Pol jumpsuit is already at $ 9,190, which is INSANE for one of
these. This means it is the highest selling costume outside of the
Spock Space Suit so far. What is interesting is how the two bidders have already fought over this, driving up the price. Oh well.
The Admiral Cartwright costume lot is nice, but the jacket is wrong. Check out the pictures from Star Trek IV and VI. Both clearly show a gold stripe along the jacket, which is not present in this lot. The costume is already at $ 3,000, making it the highest priced maroon so far. The pieces that go with this costume are certainly rare and driving the price here.
The Captain Archer desert uniform is nice, rare and has rank pips, which we have rarely seen on costumes. Having the jacket with this makes this a nice one. I actually like these costumes, and think they look great in person. I saw one at the Burbank convention and they are pretty sharp.
The Spock class D uniform is from Star Trek: The Motion Picture. This one is pretty recognizable because of the Mandarin collar that was unique to Spock's costume. None the less, this doesn't have a starfleet badge, but does have an unattached bio-monitor buckle.
The Travis Mayweather costume is nice in that it has a rank pip, which we are just now starting to see on costumes. The last one of these went for a crazy $ 4,606. Who knows where this one will go. I think a $ 2,000 price is reasonable.
The White Radiological Suit is distressed and yet already at $ 900. These have been going around $ 1,300-1,500 when not distressed.
There are two Enterprise jumpsuits currently just under $ 900. These have gone around $ 1,000 pretty consistently and I think these should not go much higher, unless there are new bidders coming in and driving the prices up.
The USS Relativity costume is a beauty. I love this style as others obviously do as the last one went for $ 2,027! This one should do about the same. It even has a set of Captain's rank.
The Admiral Janeway costume from "Endgame": is a stunt version, not used by Kate Mulgrew. Hers went at Christies. This one does have rank and comm badge though which is cool. It is already at $ 787 and will probably go well over $ 2,000 and could go close to $ 3,000.
The Sulu Commando costume will be a good buy for anyone trying to complete a Star Trek V collection, but other than that I am not crazy about it. No belt, but it does have the rare boots.
There are a bunch of Star Trek:The Motion Picture costumes. I won't go over each of them as there are no hero costume (outside of the aforementioned Spock), but there are a bunch of nice ones, complete or just the tops. all of them are good looking and I think highly underrated.
The Malcolm Reed Away Jacket is cool. Different and interesting, I think this one could be a good deal. It is only at $ 232 right now, so will be surprised if this goes over $ 1,000.
As far as props go:
The Voyager Starfleet Compression Rifle is the high prop at the moment at $ 1,136. I paid $ 3,000
for one about 4 weeks ago. The only difference was that mine had a strap. So this one should go close to that.
The Star Trek: Enterprise Orpheus Mining Colony LCARS display is interesting and well executed, but already at $ 1,025. I think these have been going high, but they seem to be popular.
The Starfleet Type III, Mark II Phaser Rifle is like one that sold last month for $ 2,600. These are nice, but not as cool as the Mark III which was used in Insurrection primarily. None the less, this is a nice piece.
The Enterprise console is beautiful and I was going to go after it, but a friend wanted it, so I backed off. The detail is great on this piece. This isn't as big as some of the other consoles, so the shipping shouldn't be that bad.
Now the Klingon Console is at $ 765 and very cool. The problem with large items like this is the shipping, which can be as much as the item! But the weathering on these makes these very cool and very Klingon!
The Romulan Console is not quite as desirable as the other two, but only at $ 515, so may go at a reasonable price. This one is from Enterprise.
The Spock mindmeld model piece doesn't do it for me. It is very recognizable, but desirable? Not sure.
The Smashed Enterprise D model is the one that Picard smashes in "First Contact". It is only at $ 530, but I can easily see this thing going for $ 1,500 or more. It is a pretty significant prop.
The Klingon Electronic Device is interesting, though I am not sure what it is! It does work though and so that makes it a bit cool. It is at $ 520 now and should go under $ 1,000.
You got to love the Starship Defiant Original Series Style Chair is cool. Who doesn't love these? At $ 510, this could easily jump up late as it is so iconic.
Finally, there is a Reman Rifle that has two working lights. At only $ 459 now, it should go about $ 1,200 a sit is pretty nice. I just got one of these and they are beautiful.
Well, good luck all and happy hunting!
Alec
Week 25
Well, I am on a business trip in Northern California, so my apologies for the delay in getting up this past week's reviews. I hate it when work gets in the way of fun!
"Mirror Universe" week was definitely a hit having many fine costumes that were certainly centerpiece items for many collections.
The highets item sold was the beautiful Travis Mayweather EV suit.
which went for $ 7,852. This was the second highest costume sold so far behind the Spock Space Suit, which went for $ 10,100, and the third highest item overall. This costume was shown in "In a Mirror, Darkly, Part I" and "Part II", during the initial scenes on the Defiant. Rumor has it that the Hoshi Space Suit like this is still available at IAW.
The T'Pol, NX-09 Avenger two piece costume is the second highest item at $ 5,250. This was a great costume, though it didn't have the belt, and had shoulder boards that weren't part of the costume in the show. T'Pol did look great in this one! (Well, she looks great in anything).
The Mirror Universe Klingon Costume went for $ 3,253, which is the highest Klingon Costume so far of this type. It was nice, but only the left chest badge differentiates it from previous versions. Again no boots, which has been the way almost all of the Klingon costumes have gone.
The Terran Empire MACO complete outfit went for exactly $ 3,000, which is in line with what the regular version went for 2 weeks ago at $ 2,950. At least there is some consistency here. What is great is that you really get a complete outfit this way, with all parts of the uniform and accessories. IAW has done a nice job with these lots.
I won the Gul Elim Garak which was sort of a Holy Grail of mine. I paid $ 2,950 for it and was prepared to go higher. I love this one because Garak is my favorite Star Trek character of all time and I also wanted a Cardassian costume, and so now I have both. In the past I have been outbid on both the Garak costumes that I wanted that have come up, and so it was nice to snag this one. A special thanks to those Star Trek Prop, Costume and Auction Forum members who didn't bid on this, knowing I wanted it badly. I owe you!
The Sirella costume was a great deal at $ 2,550. I actually gave this my Sleeper of the Week because I think people don't realize how beautiful this costume is! Check out the photos and the detailing that this has. My friend Jim went after this (and thankfully stepped aside on my Garak!) and I think Jim has a truly amazing costume that would be the pride of many collections!
The distressed Starship Defiant costume went for a surprisingly high $ 2,125. I really can't see why and I think someone really overpaid on this one. Especially since the other one went for $ 760!
The Terran Empire Fleet Admiral Gardner was a nice piece and went for $ 2,026. Being that it is a Mirror Universe piece, it is certainly rarer than the others of this type, and warranted a higher price.
The two piece Terran Empire female costume went for $ 1,900 to my buddy Grant as well. He really wanted this one and I don't blame him. These costume are sharp.
The Hoshi Sato "Captian's Woman" costume went for $ 1,891. Now I just have to say, this is glorified Lingerie! I like displaying my costumes, so this one wouldn't make the cut with me!
The Mirror universe Dr. Phlox was not the main one he wore through most of the "In a Mirror Darkly" episodes. He did wear it at the end of Part II though and went for $ 1,265. It is none the less memorable and similar enough to be identifiable.
The blue sciences Avenger Terran Empire jumpsuit was actually Gary Grahams, who portrayed Soval, so I think this was a great deal at $ 1,224.
The Engineering Red Avenger version went for $ 1,201 and the Terran Empire Enterprise Engineering Red version went for only $ 899.
The B'ellana Torres Maquis Pilot Costume went for $ 1,181 and I think it was a great deal. This costume combines historical significance (It is B'ellana's Maquis uniform and the first one we see her in) with great fabrics and design.
The Harry Kim racing costume at $ 1,136 is a great deal as this is a really beautiful costume that will look amazing on display. It is the second Harry Kim, which is interesting considering how short a period of time Harry was wearing it in the episode!
Other costume of note:
The Harry Kim, Garrett Wang jacket was a great deal at $ 846. The lack of a name tag in the jacket hurting this one.
The Torres Starfleet away mission costume at $ 810 was also a great deal for a first rate costume with boots!
The Vorta Yegrun costume was supposed to have been worn by Iggy Pop in "The Magnificent Ferengi" but it didn't match up. This costume was worn by a Vorta at the Peace Treaty signing in "What You Leave Behind", and went for $ 665.
The Tuvok Civilian Costume was in fact his Maquis costume from "Caretaker" and so was a steal at $ 430.
As far as props go:
The Original Series Style-Computer Console went for $ 2,365 to my good buddy Grant. I think he was trying to compensate for his beloved Ottawa Senators hockey problems. But it is an amazingly cool prop that we have seen this in many TOS episodes and it will look great on his desk.
The USS Valiant Master Systems Display at $ 1,980 was the second highest price paid for a prop this week. I guess I am just not that impressed with this piece and I think there are much nicer LCARS out there. It is from the Defiant class USS Valiant from the DS9 episode of that name.
At $ 1,337, the "Wish List" Light up PADD went true to form. Lately, these PADDs have been going around $ 1,200-1,300, so this is right in line with that.
I think the Voyager Janeway Ready Room statue at $ 1,275 is overpriced. For a piece that was not seen a great deal on screen, and has no special interest (like a sextant or a spaceship model), I think someone overpaid.

The Nemesis Type 3 Phaser Rifle went for a paltry $ 815. It was a rubber stunt version, but this is still a steal.
The Enterprise Tri-Monitor Housing went for $ 1,001 and I like this because it is rather iconic. From the Starship Defiant in "In a Mirror Darkly". All you need to do is add monitors and you have a VERY cool prop.
The Terran Empire Knife is a beauty and went for $ 401, which I think is a good deal on a very cool prop. What is important is that this is metal, and you don't see that many metal versions of bladed props because of safety reasons.
The Original Series Style Phaser went for a whopping $ 495! So you are basiclaly paying $ 475 to be able tro say you have a screen used version of a $ 20 toy. Hmmm. Not sure I am crazy about that idea.
Three Voyager Astrometric Background Panels went for $ 510, one went for $ 810 and $ 1,154 for my favorite, the Eagle Nebula one. Well, i think that last one was way high, though let's face it, that is the most famous astronomical image of the last 30 years.
THIS WEEK'S AWARDS:
Best Costume of the Week: Travis Mayweather EV suit. Is there any question?
Best Prop of the Week: The Original Series Style-Computer Console at $ 2,365. An awesome piece!
Best Buy of the week: The B'ellana Torres Maquis Pilot Costume at $ 1,181. Important costume that looks great!

Week 25 Preview
Sorry for the late previews, but it has been a tough week! I will try and get this up by Wednesday every week from now on.
This is "Mirror Universe" week it seems and there are a TON of great costumes from these episodes from DS9 and Enterprise. Also good regular costumes from DS9 and Voyager.
The Travis Mayweather EV suit is the top item right now, and already the second highest item so far (we are told the Vulcan Medical print that hit $ 20,000 wasn't a real bid). It was shown in "In a Mirror, Darkly, Part I" and "Part II", during the initial scenes on the Defiant. At $ 7,749, this could hit $ 10,000 easily. The Spock Space Suit went for $ 10,100 and is the high item to date. The Phlox Space Suit like this didn't hit reserve at $ 5,600 in the first month of the auction, but was sold privately by IAW to the high bidder. Rumor has it was sold in the $ 8-9,000 range, as at Christie's, the 4 of these that sold, all went in the $ 8,000-8,500 range.
The T'Pol, NX-09 Avenger two piece costume is the second highest
item at $ 3,716. I love this costume, and would love to bid on it, but I am trying to be careful with my financial resources! This will easily hit $ 5,000. It is quite beautiful, but the shoulder boards are wrong. Look at teh screen caps. I guess they are a bonus. It is missing the belt though.
The Mirror Universe Klingon Costume is nice, though not much different from other Klingon costumes. Only the left chest badge differentiates it is already significantly higher than the average of about $ 1,900 for these.
The Gul Elim Garak is nice and this shows you how much a name tag can change the value of the item. These costumes have gone in the $ 1,200-2,100 range, and this one will certainly top $ 3,00 since Garak is such a popular character.
The Terran Empire MACO complete outfit is nice and the Mirror companion to the MACO with Assault kit we saw two weeks ago. That one went for $ 2,950, and I assume this one will go about the same. Check out the photos. There are lots of cool pieces here.
The two piece Terran Empire female costume has jumped the last day to $ 1,481. I think this will be a hot one. Let's face it, this is a sexy costume and if you can't afford the T'Pol. this is a nice one. Like the T'Pol, it is missing the belt.
The Terran Empire Fleet Admiral Gardner is nice. Now I never really liked these. I mean in 200 years I hope we still aren't wearing ties! And on a Starfleet uniform? Who thought of that? This one is cool because of all the Terran Empire extras, but a bit baggy. Still cool.
The Sirella costume is amazing. The detailing on this is unlike any other Klingon Costume I have seen. This one could hit $ 3,000 and would be wel worth it. It will display great!
The Hoshi Sato "Captian's Woman" costume is basically lingerie! But hey, who am I to argue with buying lingerie? I hope you just have a girlfriend who can fit it in, because if you are a guy I don't want too much information here!
The Mirror universe Dr. Phlox is not the main one he wore through most of the "In a Mirror Darkly" episodes. He did wear it at the end of Part II though. It is at $ 810 now and will probably go around $ 1,500.
There are three Terran Empire costumes. An Engineering red Enterprise, A blue Scieneces Avenger, and an Engineering Red Avenger. They have been going in the $ 1,200-1,500 range and are well worth it! It will be interesting to see how these do when there are three available.
The B'ellana Torres Maquis Pilot Costume is amazing. I love the fabrics and the boots are killer. This is a great and important costume to the series, and was used a number of times (Sign on to the Forum to get all the details!). This is a $ 2,000 costume and anything less is a good deal.
The Harry Kim, Garrett Wang jacket is nice, but a bit problematic. The jacket doesn't say Garret Wang in it, but IAW did say they found this in the Garret Wang section of the costumes. The COA will be critical here, so don't ever lose it!
There are two complete, distressed Starship Defiant costumes used in both Trials and Tribulations in DS9 and then in "In a Mirror Darkly" here and here. They are cool in that they are complete. I think we will see more like this.
The Torres Starfleet away mission costume has boots and I really like this one. The stunt one was on previously. These are really nice looking and will display very well.
Corrections:
I will be adding this section either in with the preview, or by itself. Jorg and his crew at the new Star Trek Prop, Costume and Auction Forums all work the correctly identify props and costumes after they are listed on eBay by IAW each week. We have a whole thread just on correcting the listings and it is great information. Thanks to all who contribute!
The Vorta Yegrun costume is supposed to be worn by Iggy Pop in "The Magnificent Ferengi" but it doesn't match up. Here is the costume that he did wear. So maybe this was supposed to be used but never made it to the screen? This costume was worn by a Vorta at the Peace Treaty signing in "What You Leave Behind", but that's it.
The Ferengi Ishka Moogie coat was never worn by Ishka, but it was worn by Quark in "Ferengi love songs" when he returns to Ferenginar to visit his mum. It's a Ferengi raincoat only worn by Quark in this episode and by nobody else. Our resident expert Jorg checked every Ishka episode to verify this. While it does have Cecily Adams tags, it wasn't in fact used by her.
Also The Tuvok Civilian Costume is in fact his Maquis costume from "Caretaker". This is the companion piece to the B'Ellanna Torres we mentioned before.
As far as props go:
There aren't many great props this week.
The Original Series Style-Computer Console is pretty cool. We have seen this in many TOS episodes and it will look great on someone's desk. Check out the detailing! Already at $ 1,225, this could easily top $ 2,000.The USS Valiant Master Systems Display is nice, and already at $ 1,025, this one is getting a lot of interest. I really don't think it is amazing, but 6 bidders do! It is from the Defiant class USS Valiant from the DS9 episode of that name.
The Nemesis Type 3 Phaser Rifle is going low it seems. I paid $ 2,000 for my resin version in Burbank and and the last resin one on eBay from IAW went for $ 2,300. However this one is rubber, and so should go around $ 1,200 I think.
The Voyager Janeway Ready Room statue is an interesting piece. It definitely was seen in Janeway's ready room and actually looks like a real statue, so could serve a dual purpose!
The "Wish List" Light up PADD is a nice item. I had heard light up PADDs were rare, but IAW seems to have a bunch. They have been going around $ 1,200-1,500 and I see this one in that range.
The Enterprise Tri-Monitor Housing is pretty cool in that this is a pretty iconic piece, even if it is from Enterprise for "In a Mirror Darkly". You need to ad monitors, as this is just the housing, but well worth a try! I would love one on my desk!
The Terran Empire Knife is a beauty. It si real metal with a wood handle, which is rare on props. Usually they are rubber. At only $ 360, this could hit $ 1,000 and be worth it!
The Original Series Style Phaser was most likely shown in "In a Mirror, Darkly, Part II", where it is shown a number of times. Remember, this is an art asylum toy that most of us already own! At $ 355 I think it is going to go around $ 600. I just couldn't pay that for a toy I already owned to say I
had a screen used one! Finally, there are a number of Voyager Astrometric Background Panels here, here, here, here and my favorite, the Eagle Nebula one here. They are all different prices, but will look great I am sure and are a good deal at anything under $ 300.
Check out the new Star Trek Prop, Costume and Auction Forums. We have some great posters and there is TONS of extra information on each weeks auctions as our members do lots more research on each week's items that the IAW staff can.
Good hunting!
Alec

If you don't know, the biggest Star Trek convention of the year is always the Creation Star Trek Convention in Las Vegas at the Las Vegas Hilton, which this year happens August 9-12. Of course the Las Vegas Hilton is home to the Star Trek Experience, and so it is a fitting home. The Star Trek Prop, Costume and Auction Forum group will be there with a display of Star Trek props and costumes! (what else?) and we would love to meet any of you that are coming. Make sure you ask for me, as I will be there from Wednesday through Sunday.
General admission tickets are $ 119, and I think you get your money's worth as that is less than $ 30 a day. With all the star, dealers and such, it will be the best Star Trek event you attend all year. There are also packages that get you better seats for the star talks.
There are, of course, autograph sessions, and you can buy your tickets online. What is even cooler
(as I don't collect autographs) is the ability to have your photograph taken with the stars. I bought a ticket for a photo with Shatner and Nimoy as well as DS9 stars Avery Brooks, Penny Johnson and Ciroc Lofton. Very cool!
As always, there is more information on the Star Trek Prop, Costume and Auction Forum.
See you in Vegas!
Alec
Week 24
This past week, those of us who watch the auctions every Friday were a bit worried
The Sisko uniform was the top item this past week hitting $ 5,203. This is a rare two piece version, and at Christie's, I paid $ 6,000 (including buyer's premium - though I got a Comm Badge with mine), so this was a good deal. I think Captain's costumes have settled into the $ 4-5,000 range.
The 7 of 9 costume was close behind at $ 5,000. One previously sold just like this for $ 3,605. Though this one didn't have the corset that was part of these costumes, it is still pretty rare.
The Klingon Warrior Costume was awesome. It was a black Star Trek VI movie version and nicer than any other one we have seen from IAW. It went for $ 3,050 which is a record for a Klingon costume on IAW. I think this one looks even better in person and will make a great display.
The Worf Trial Costume ended at $ 3,025. I don't think the baldric was part of that costume, and so am curious where it is from. None the less, a great piece from a great episode, "Sins of the Father", where Worf wore this in his appearance before the high council.
The Torres Maternity uniform went for a strong $ 2,550. A record for a Torres on IAW, certainly because of its rarity.
The Dr. Katherine Pulaski uniform also went strong at $ 2,125. Doctor's uniforms seem to have their own special sub-group of collectors and so it is no surprise that this went went where it did.
The Lady Grilka Klingon costume was beautiful. When I really spent time looking at it I was very impressed. It went for $ 1,825 which is in line what regular Klingon costumes go for, so a good deal for a great costume with strong eye appeal.
The Dr. Bashir Starfleet Uniform Jumpsuit went for $ 1,725, which was
about where one would suspect. I think we will see more of these, and the First Contact style uniforms are always good buys because of the quality of the fabric and how they look on display. They continue to b e the most popular style with fans, with late season TNGs close
behind.
The Voyager style Dax uniform went for $ 1,595 which was right on for the less popular Voyager style of early DS9 years. None the less, the fact that you can buy main character uniforms at these prices tells you how lucky we all are!
The Colonel Lovok Tal Shiar uniform was different from the other Romulan costumes we have seen so far by IAW and went for $ 1,530, which again, is pretty on par with previous pricing.
At $ 1,515 I am the proud new owner of Nog's dress uniform. The Dress uniform is the first of this style we have seen, but lacks the uniform belt we that this type of costume shares with the black Admiral style. I am a Nog collector and also added his blue repairman overalls from "Badda Bing Badda Bang" to my collection from my good friend Dana who won them on IAW a few months back.
The Ferengi Grand Proxy costume from the Voyager Episode "False Profits", was truly beautiful. Ferengi costume vary in their appeal. This was at the top end of that spectrum. This costume was worn by Ethan Philips and ended at $ 1,504. A reasonable price.
The Future Doctors outfit, ended at $ 1,415 which was actually cheaper than I thought it would go. I love this style and just couldn't afford to go after this one at this price, but would love to complete a set of these. This came with the lab coat which is a nice touch.
My buddy Dana wanted the Miral Paris costume from Voyager "Endgame" and so I stepped aside for him, but I love this one. And it came with a comm badge and rank pip! I love all these future uniforms and this one will look great on display. At $ 1,390 a great price I think.
The Major Kira maternity costume at $ 1,382 was a steal when you consider how high Kiras have been going. This has both rank pin and comm badge too.
I should also mention that a Jem'Hadar costume went for only $ 739! Priuces are coming down on the costume that we see a lot of.
As far as props go:
The Orion console was the top prop and not a bad deal at $ 2,750. Shipping will be a killer, so I hope the winner is in LA. But very cool piece.
The Deep Space Nine Operations Center Model was awesome. At $ 1,704 a good deal as well for a serious piece of Star Trek history. The original TOS one of these went for a crazy amount in a Profiles in History auction a few years ago, and I think the historical significance of these models will keep their value up for years to come.
The Starfleet Medical Computer went for a CHEAP $ 1,285. I can't believe what a great deal this was. Star Trek Prop Forum member Jason won this one so it has a good home now. Hopefully he can bring it to the Vegas con for display at the Star Trek Prop, Costume and Auction Forum booth!
The Star Trek TNG "Evolution - The Egg Probe" went for $ 1,104. A nice model, this is a decent price on something like this, which is probably pretty impressive in person. I didn't notice this the first time around, but I think the buyer will be happy with his purchase.
I didn't even review the Enterprise E bridge style chair in my preview because I was so under-whelmed. None the less, a happy buyer won it at $ 965. The cool thing is the embroidered Starfleet log on the back of the chair!
The Son'a Particle Collector Ship model went for $ 936. There were a bunch of parts with this one and a model b uilder will have a field day with this.
The Medical Stabilizer ended where it was on Thursday with no more bids at $ 860. That really surprised me, as I thought this was the type of prop that will go higher. A good deal though!
The Transwarp Human from Voyager also went cheap at $ 835. This could easily have gone at twice that, and I think the winner did well. Of cousre, it is latex.
The Bat'Leth went for a reasonable $ 776 considering it was
damaged. These are pretty cool and something any Star Trek fan can appreciate.
I won the Nog's cane lot, which I am splitting with a buddy from the Forum. At $ 766, we paid $ 383 for each and that is a steal. I am pretty fired up about this one.
My buddy Brett won the Voyager 5 stool lot for $ 665, which is a great deal. I am taking two of these to have in my game room. How cool is that to have Star Trek stools for $ 133 a piece? The Andorian Energy Carbine at $ 611 is a good deal. Rubber weapons are a great deal right now, as the Bajoran Phaser Rifle at $ 533 supports. These prices are crazy cheap, and so keep your eyes out for good bargains here.
Finally, the Daniels Future Technology Case went CHEAP at only $ 566. This was a real stunner. I would give it my deal of the week, but there were no close ups of the two pieces inside, so I don't know how cool it will be in person. My buddy Dana won this and maybe he will bring it to Vegas.
